Code of Conduct
Player Code of Conduct
The GYFL and each member organization abide by a strict Code of Conduct governing all coaches, players, officials, parents, and volunteers. The purpose of the Code is to ensure that all people associated with youth football and in the GYFL treat each other with dignity and respect.
The Code of Conduct is a condition of membership for all players, parents, coaches, officials, and volunteers. All members of the GYFL agree to abide by the Code of Conduct and to be subjected to the consequences of violating the Code. It is understood that by enrolling into the GYFL program, players, parents and coaches, officials and volunteers are all bound by this Code of Conduct and its validity is hereby a matter of record and is not dependent upon physical signature. All enforcement decisions made by the officials of GYFL are final and are not subject to review. No refunds will be granted to those players dismissed from a member organization or the GYFL for a violation of the Code of Conduct by themselves or their parents.

- Missing practice could result in limited game time or result in not being able to play in the upcoming game.
- Attending all games throughout the season which also means being on time to games, as per coaches’ requested time.
- Giving my maximum effort and attention at all practices and games.
- to show respect for the property and equipment of the GYFL and my team by:

Parent Code of Conduct
The GYFL and each member organization abide by a strict Code of Conduct governing all coaches, players, officials, parents, and volunteers. The purpose of the Code is to ensure that all people associated with youth football and in the GYFL treat each other with dignity and respect.

I, as a parent/guardian of the above GYFL football player, agree to:
- Demonstrate courtesy and respect to all players, coaches, officials, parents, and spectators.
- To show good sportsmanship by encouraging a commitment to team spirit, discipline, and a supportive attitude. Emphasize the fun of the game, the team and the GYFL, putting forth their best effort at all times, and not wins and losses. I am a role model for my child and other children when my child is enrolled in the GYFL. I will not coach. I will let the players play, and the coaches, coach. I will support both positively. I shall not seek to undermine the authority and/or efforts of the Coaches, Officials, Member Organizations or the GYFL or foment division within a Member Organization or the GYFL.
- I will refrain from the use of profanity or obscene gestures.
- I understand the importance of bringing my child to practice REGULARLY and ON TIME & with the proper equipment. I understand that football is a TEAM sport and requires the attendance of many players, individual delays hurt everyone.
- I understand that “All absences” from practices and games will be called in so that coaches can be properly prepared.
- I understand that no drinks or food are to be brought onto the Turf Fields. I understand that pets are NOT allowed at GHS fields at any time. I understand that there will be NO confrontations on the field during practices or at games.
- I agree to stay behind the roping/fencing at fields & stadiums & to stay on the opposite side of the players’ sidelines at fields.
- I understand any complaints MUST be made in writing & given to the President of the appropriate organization or GYFL. Follow the "24 Hour Rule"; if you have a complaint resulting from a game (or practice) situation, speak with the coach or member organization President on the following day. I understand that I can direct any questions or complaints to the appropriate team parent.
Any conduct, including abusive language and/ or gestures, racially insensitive remarks, damage to property or belongings, or any other conduct that reflects poorly on yourself or your child, a member organization and/or the GYFL is deemed to be unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The prohibited conduct in question is not limited to a GYFL sponsored event. This rule applies to all players, parents, siblings, coaches, officials, volunteers, and guests, including but not limited to, at all times when in or around games, practices and/or events of the GYFL. The Board of Directors of GYFL will deal with unacceptable conduct at its sole discretion, imposing warnings, suspension, or expulsion, as it deems appropriate. ANY SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION BASED ON VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WILL NOT BE ACCOMPANIED BY A TUITION REFUND.
I have read and discussed the Player and Parent Codes of Conduct with my child.
